The tradition of spirit guides communicating with and assisting humans through animals, birds and other creatures can be found all over the world, and dates back to ancient times. Today, if we are open to paying attention to our totem animals, we can develop beneficial relationships with them, that will help our spiritual and emotional development. We can also recognise that when a totem animal appears to us in a special way, it is offering insight into what is happening in our lives. Celia learned about the tradition of totem animals directly from Native Americans, with whom she worked on cultural preservation for several years.
