Debbie Goetz


Debbie Goetz is an Emergency Preparedness Training Specialist title with the Seattle Office of Emergency Management. For the past five years, she has enjoyed teaching residents throughout the community. She is also part of the core team who responds to the Emergency Operations Center after a disaster to help coordinate city services.

Prior to joining the City of Seattle, she spent 15 years in the fire service, where she was a fire educator and media spokesperson in South King County. She began her career in public service as a 911 dispatcher for the Corvallis Police Department in Corvallis, Oregon.

In past careers, Debbie was a flight attendant for Northwest Airlines and sold copy machines for Xerox. Debbie and her husband hail originally from Michigan, and both are alumni of Oregon State and Michigan State University. She and Fred have lived in the Pacific Northwest for 25 years and enjoy diving, kayaking and being around the water. Debbie is also an accomplished classical pianist, is known to hit the gym on occasion and revels in the restorative power of yoga.
