About Kelly Bazzani, BSN, MA Psychology, Certified Master Life Coach & Facilitator -

My name is Kelly Bazzani and it is both an honor and a privilege to share my story of resilience and to have this opportunity to empower you to do the same.

I obtained my Bachelor’s in Nursing degree from Arizona State University in December 2002. At the young age of 22, I was a Critical Care nurse at the prestigious Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix, AZ. I went on to become certified in open heart surgery and got stroke certified as well. I had reached the highest standard of nursing by the age of 25. At the same time, I was suppressing my perfectionism with alcohol. Then, at just 26 years old, I broke my back lifting a patient.

This event changed the course of my life. It stopped my nursing career in its tracks, because over the course of just five years, I had undergone eight spinal surgeries. I experienced severe bouts of depression and anxiety, and slowly became seriously addicted to the painkillers I had been regularly prescribed. I was simply existing - not living; surviving- not thriving. As a result of my addiction, I chose poor choices and got in trouble with the law, which ultimately resulted in surrendering my nursing license. Up until this point, I had only known my identity to be a “critical care nurse,” and I felt lost at sea.

Finally, with the support of people who never gave up hope on me - even when I had completely given up on myself, I entered into an inpatient rehabilitation facility (not my first, but definitely my last). I decided to get honest with myself and address my underlying issues. I had been fighting this because I was terrified to trust anyone, including myself and was afraid of what would rise to the surface. After all, the alcohol and prescription drugs were just a symptom of what was really hidden beneath and within myself. The therapists and counselors that supported me through this journey gave me the tools and the coping skills I needed to build a new foundation. I didn’t know what the future was going to look like, but I remained focused on the present moment. And one day at a time, I invited the feelings I had blocked and resisted - guilt, shame, embarrassment, frustration, anxiety, worry, fear - to the surface so I could finally experience them and move forward.

The day I left my residential treatment program, I walked up to my local community college and enrolled in Psychology classes. I knew I wanted to dedicate the rest of my life being of service to others the way those therapists and counselors were of service to me on my journey of self-discovery. In 2017, I obtained my dual Master’s degree in Marriage Family Therapy and Professional Clinical Counseling from Brandman University.

Right away, even as a trainee, I was able to build a large client base. I truly believe this is because my story of resilience is one that clients can relate to, and my perspective makes it easy for me to view them holistically.

While this was deeply fulfilling, I wanted the ability to reach more people with my story; to use it to remind others that their past does not need to define their present and their future moving forward. So, I obtained my Life Coach Certification and opened Resilience in December of 2018. I went on to obtain my Master Life Certification and am now a Facilitator training other Coaches.

I have been in recovery since 2007.
I have been sober from alcohol for 15 years.
And, as of July 21, I am eight years clean from prescription medication.

Each morning that I wake up, I get to make a conscious choice to not drink and use, focused only on this day ahead. I depend on a Power greater than me to get myself out of Ego and into a heart space, so that I can lead myself and others from a place of compassion. I work diligently on myself and keep an open-mind about the progress of my personal growth. I continue to work on my integrity of character; setting healthy boundaries, manifesting abundance in my interpersonal relationships, and the self-awareness needed to listen to my intuition when it comes to my own self-care.

This resilience work prepares me to coach you effectively and efficiently - from a place of understanding, empathy, and unconditional positive regard.

The most important message I want to convey is that I will never give up on you.

Many have stood by my side - in the darkest of times and the best and brightest of times. As an homage to myself and them, I coach without bias, judgment, or criticism. I am guided by my vision, purpose, and values, and would be honored to help you get into alignment with yours, as well.

  • "For those of you who don't know about Mary Jane, first of all she's my mom. I think she's pretty awesome as a mom but I also think she's pretty awesome at what she does. Little bit about her background is in nursing but she's had a thriving, successful practice in Issaquah, Washington since 1992. She's a medical intuitive and the way I describe what she does is a form of muscle testing, the body to find out where your nutritional deficiencies are, then she recommends nutrition protocol that gets in the nutrition repair, feeds your body, brings it back to where it can function at 100% and I used to work in her office, saw a lot of interesting cases that came in. Some were fun, had a few interesting people but I've seen a lot of miracles created in her office and she's a pretty special lady, not just that cause she is my mom and she's a miracle worker."
